A.P.E.S.: Transforming Digital Engagement for Quebec’s Pharmacists
From Strategic Discovery to a Future-Ready Digital Platform with Symetris.
Introduction
The Association des pharmaciens des établissements de santé du Québec (A.P.E.S.) stands as a leading nonprofit organization representing more than 2000+ Quebec's pharmacists working in hospitals and healthcare institutions. The A.P.E.S. website plays a critical role in providing essential information and resources to both pharmacists and the general public. The website is a central hub where pharmacists access a member portal to manage their memberships and obtain training and certifications, while the main website offers information about events and news relevant to non-members making it an integral part of their daily operations.
In June 2019, Symetris took over maintenance and support for A.P.E.S. from their previous agency. Recognizing the importance of their digital presence, A.P.E.S. embarked on a digital transformation journey with Symetris, starting with a strategic discovery phase. This project aimed to ensure the website met current and future needs, aligning with A.P.E.S.’s mission to advance pharmaceutical practice across Quebec.

Orchestrate the Work of Multiple Partners and Stakeholders Around a Common Goal
With many partners involved in the digital transformation project, it was challenging to distinguish roles and responsibilities. Symetris Symetris addressed this by assigning a dedicated project manager to coordinate efforts, facilitating alignment through a strategic discovery phase, and bringing together all stakeholders to ensure a unified vision.
Balancing User Experiences
The challenge was to find a middle ground between the distinct needs of general website visitors and members using the client portal. Symetris had to carefully balance these differing requirements, creating a cohesive digital experience that served both audiences effectively.
Replacing Outdated Systems
The existing Drupal 7 website was reaching the end of its life, necessitating a comprehensive overhaul. Symetris aimed to not only replace the outdated systems but also align the new platform with A.P.E.S.'s strategic vision for the future
